Senior Surveyor - Development Monitoring

Are you an experienced Surveyor with a proven track record of overseeing projects?
LocatED is looking for a Senior Surveyor to work closely with our Development team in London .

What will you be doing?

As a Senior Surveyor , you will provide technical advice and initial master planning for the development of
complex mixed -use and developer -led solutions. This will involve client side project management of the delivery
of new free schools and working with existing schools to help them manage their estates more effectively.

You will assist the Development Managers in the preparation of feasibility studies, planning assessments and
masterplans for the more complex sites including reporting to and liaising with the internal and external teams
and keeping the DfE, trusts and schools involved at all times. Additionally, you’ll prepare budgets, agree
development strategies and carry out planning pre -application work .

You will provide the technical input required to allow LocatED to operate to its investment rules, providing
updates to Mixed -Use Investment Committee, LocatED Board and also to Department for Education Project
Team and Design Advisors .

What do you need?

• A thorough understanding of the entire construction process
• To be c ommercially strong and able to deliver complex mixed -use schemes
• Appreciation of the factors impacting developer’s decision making as well as our likely client base
(schools, LAs, other government departments etc.)
• Ability to manage projects and articulate the current status, future risks and likely delivery timescales
• An ability to clearly communicate the status of any project to any level
• Ability to deliver complex projects with minimal supervision
• An understanding of all technical aspects of development delivery
• Knowledge of how to handle stakeholders in order to earn trust
