In order to take forward Homes England's mission, the Development Directorate is aiming to drive up land supply in order to deliver in excess of 10,000 new homes per annum.
Working in a team with our Heads of Acquisitions, the Senior Land Manager will play a critical role in identifying residential land opportunities for acquisition and development. You will lead the process from identification, site appraisal and negotiation through to acquisition. The role will require you to appoint and manage consultant teams to support you to ensure the appropriate technical, planning and legal due diligence is undertaken as well as the provision of detailed site appraisals in order to negotiate the appropriate terms for acquisition.
In addition to overseeing multiple site acquisitions you will support the Head of and Director of Acquisitions in the creation of new collaborative strategic partnerships.
Although this is diverse land acquisition role, and you will have the ability to pursue both small and large sites with and without planning consent. Experience of strategic land acquisition and partnering would also be advantageous. You will be joining our small but highly skilled team, who are committed to making positive change in how we acquire, plan, and deliver new land and establish long term partnering opportunities.
Responsibilities
As an experienced Senior Acquisitions Manager you will have a proven track record of identifying, appraising, negotiating and securing land opportunities across the south east or south west of England and will have already developed strong relationships with land agents, landowners and local authorities.
You will have an excellent knowledge of the residential development industry and ideally you will understand how Homes England can seek to support the wider housing market through its interventions.
Innovative thinking and having the drive and determination to seek out and pursue new development opportunities will be actively supported.
In addition, you will be able to grasp technical and legal documentation such as planning agreements and be able to confidentially produce high quality reports on potential site acquisitions and present them to our project executive and other committees as necessary.
Through your previous experience you will understand how to manage colleagues and be able to demonstrate you can work with others as part of a team in a collaborative, inclusive way.
