Be part of building Scotland’s future
Scottish Enterprise (SE) is Scotland's economic development agency. We're committed to growing the Scottish economy for the benefit of all, helping create more quality jobs and a brighter future for every region.
The Innovation & Place team works in partnership with key stakeholders, leading and supporting the development and delivery of high-impact economic projects. These are designed to have a transformational effect at a local, regional, and national level, and can include everything from major development and policy influencing to strategy creation. At the heart of all the team does is the desire to make Scotland the UK’s leading nation for innovation.
The role
As a Project Manager in the Innovation & Place team, you’ll help drive delivery and make a difference to companies, partners, and places across Scotland. This could be at any one of the property assets in our diverse portfolio, such as BioQuarter (Edinburgh), Eurocentral (Lanarkshire), Loch Lomond Shores (West Dunbartonshire) or elsewhere. We’ll also look to you to help us add more strategic sites for transformational economic development.
Your remit will include site acquisitions, property disposals, asset management, property management, grant contributions and infrastructure development. You’ll develop a pipeline of property acquisitions across Scotland, managing these to successful conclusions. You’ll also build business cases, implement infrastructure investments, and prepare sites for future development. It’ll mean working closely with partners and stakeholders to achieve our strategic goals.
Who we’re looking for
An enthusiastic, experienced property and project management professional, you’ll come to us with a particular interest in economic development. You’ll have a good understanding of the rationale for property and infrastructure-led intervention, plus effective communication and senior-level influencing skills ¬– essential for building and managing sometimes complex, multi-partner relationships.
Your degree-level education in property or related technical discipline (or equivalent experience) will be matched by your proven ability to motivate, influence, and persuade. You’ll also understand the importance of managing competing priorities and be capable of working independently when necessary.
Our values
Being part of Scottish Enterprise means being open to new ideas and trying different ways of working. We support each other to reach our full potential. We celebrate shared success and learn together when things don’t go so well. And we always treat each other fairly, with respect and understanding. Together, we are the difference.
At Scottish Enterprise, we’re proud to celebrate difference. Diversity of experience and thought is vital to the success of our vision for the future of every community across Scotland. As an equal opportunity employer, we actively encourage applicants from a wide range of individuals, irrespective of age, disability, gender reassignment, gender identity and expression, marriage and civil partnership, pregnancy and maternity, race, religion or belief, sex, and sexual orientation.
We commit to providing any reasonable adjustments required, not only during the application and assessment process but throughout employment with us.
We have the following networks which are open to all colleagues to help drive inclusion, Disability Positive, Gender Balanced, Multi-cultural, Multi-Generational and Pride (LGBTQ+).
Apply now to build your future with us.
Closing: 5 December 2023.
