Head of Property and Leisure
The Organisation
Maidstone Borough Council has a clear vision about developing a thriving and prosperous community in the Heart of Kent. The Council has an investment programme that supports this ambition, by providing the infrastructure and services to make Maidstone a thriving place. The Council’s property strategy is central to our ambitions, both in providing the best possible settings for services like leisure, and by getting the most value from an extensive portfolio of property assets.
The Role
The Council is now recruiting to the new post of Head of Property and Leisure. This role has the lead responsibility for the Council’s property assets, including operational and commercial management, facilities support, acquisitions and disposals. The role includes leisure services management, ensuring that we meet customer aspirations and deliver on the Council’s health and wellbeing objectives. You will manage our in-house team and will work with external contractors and advisers, as well as the wider community of elected councillors, service users and residents.
What we are looking for
We are looking for someone who is inspired by the opportunity to manage our property assets in a way that serves the community in the broadest sense. You will have a background in property and are likely to have a RICS qualification. Knowledge of the leisure sector would be useful but is not essential, and your experience may have been gained in either the public sector or the private sector.
