Head of Housing Management and Estates
Some councils would say this is about ‘housing services’; we define it as resident services.
It’s an important nuance you’ll champion in this role – as you evolve the concept of estate management to create services genuinely tailored around real needs.
There’s scale too: we’re one of the country’s largest council landlords, with almost 29,000 homes. And that number’s set to rise, as our modular construction methods transform our portfolio. We’re set to become the largest developer in Bristol, building a new generation of council housing.
Create a legacy
Naturally, there’ll be a focus on improving the way we let, manage and maintain our homes. But your legacy will be the way you inspire your 250+ team to meet residents’ priorities, and influence across the Council and City to create ever-better solutions.
There’s also the intriguing challenge of making Bristol carbon neutral too.
As well as a genuine strategist and motivator, we’re looking for a senior housing figure residents can relate to, someone with a reputation for not only bringing the best out of multi-functional services, but enhancing them through innovation.
What we can offer
We are proud to be a city that is undergoing major change. Working towards communal goals, our people enjoy a uniquely collaborative and forward-thinking environment – and it is here that you will excel. With the support to realise your ambitions, we will encourage you to develop your skills with ongoing professional development opportunities. You can also be sure of a great work/life balance, enhanced by flexible working options, generous holiday entitlement, and access to our desirable pension scheme. Working from our attractive open-plan offices, every day will present you with new experiences and opportunities, plus the scope to get on-site and witness your ideas evolving and flourishing. However, the real reward here will be developing services the rest of the industry quickly looks to mimic. Services that make life better for 65,000 residents.
