Derbyshire County Council has commissioned an external review of its property services function as part of the Council’s transformative Enterprising Council programme. The review concluded that the Council needed to fundamentally change the operating model for Corporate Property. As part of which a new Asset Management Framework has been prepared and the Council is now seeking to establish a new senior management team.
Based in Matlock, Derbyshire in the beautiful Derwent Valley, Derbyshire County Council is looking to appoint a senior management team member to its Corporate Property Team.
Reporting to the Assistant Director (Asset Management) the successful applicant will manage an Estates team that provides a comprehensive estate management service to the Council’s operational property portfolio. In addition to property management and red book valuation, the team is also responsible for the disposal of surplus property. Through the disposals programme the successful applicant will play a key role working with key council partners to encourage development across the county as well as generate revenue and improve the retained estate.
This is an exciting opportunity to influence strategy, review, reshape, commercialise and modernise a significant and diverse portfolio in order to reduce liabilities, whilst ensuring those assets required to deliver core council services.
The appointed candidate will have a proven track record in a senior property or portfolio management role, evidence a history of property acquisition and disposal and have a demonstrable enterprising approach to commercial development opportunity within the built environment.
