The University, through Residential Services, delivers student accommodation (approx. 3500 study bedrooms) to the Federation’s students and summer commercial guests. Residential Services also operates a private housing advice and letting service for Member Institutions. The current income of the department is approximately £45m.
This role is critical to both ensuring a high-quality student experience and generating a significant revenue stream for the University in support of its mission and objectives.
You will be responsible for maximising occupancy of, and income from, the University’s accommodation throughout the year by delivering a high standard, value for money service to a variety of residents and guests. Additionally, you will provide expert input to business cases developed in support of on-going investment across the University’s estate on all matters relating to residential accommodation.
You will establish and maintain key working relationships with senior staff from across the University and wider Federation: engaging and influencing key stakeholders to promote and maximise utilisation of the University’s residential accommodation.
Applications are welcomed from candidates with demonstrable experience of managing student residential accommodation (both directly managed, and third party owned) and services (including pastoral support and housing advice).
The successful candidate will be a strong and visible leader possess with excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to both foster excellent performance amongst colleagues and influence senior colleagues in a positive manner.
