Development Management Team Leader

A great opportunity has arisen for you to work as a Team Leader in a fast-growing Town Planning Development Management team.

The key purpose of this role will be to work alongside the service manager in the delivery and development of the Development Management & Control service in keeping with the Council Policy and guidelines, you will be responsible for a caseload of Major and more complex applications as well as the supervision of 9 planners. In addition to this, you will also be signing of delegated reports and assigning casework.

Additional Duties include

  • Managing a small team
  • Assisting with complex planning issues
  • Liaise with key stakeholders such as neighbouring authorities
  • Conduct member briefings
  • Manage a caseload of more complex politically sensitive applications

Successful candidates will have acquired practical experience as a Principal Planner or Team Leader at a Local Authority.

In addition, you will have a broad knowledge of the Town Planning legislation and procedures in conjunction with good verbal communication and written skills.
