A bit about the role...
This is an exciting time to join Homes England, the government’s housing accelerator, working to achieve positive market change to enable delivery of the new homes that England needs.
The purpose of the role is to lead the national infrastructure grants transactions team to negotiate and transact Grant Determination Agreements (GDAs) with our partners that will deliver critical infrastructure to unlock new homes. The team is split geographically North and South.
You will be a key member of the Infrastructure Grants senior management team, supporting the Director of Infrastructure Grants. The role will involve leading the transactions team and working closely with local authority and private sector partners to identify new opportunities, shape funding and delivery strategies, undertake comprehensive due diligence and negotiate grant funding agreements to unlock complex projects and increase the supply of new housing.
You will be dedicated to delivering objectives to the highest standard whilst maintaining a commitment to the team’s wellbeing.
You will be a team player with strong leadership and technical skills able to share knowledge and expertise with the team and beyond, identify opportunities for improvement and ensure the team collaborates with others to find solutions to unlock delivery of homes.
A bit about you…
You will have responsibility for the leadership and management of the national team of transaction managers involved in technical due diligence, development of projects with Local Authorities, and the contracting of grant determination agreements (GDAs).
You will manage fund delivery at a national level. Ensuring that the annual Project Delivery business plan targets are met .
You will set the standards for professional staff in assessing, structuring and contracting high value public infrastructure projects.
You will ensure the delivery of effective oversight of panel consultants supporting the due diligence process, with a focus on efficiency and value for money.
You will own the processes relating to the due diligence, investment approval and contracting activities of the Project Delivery function, ensuring they are robust and transparent, and manage risk appropriately.
