Directorate: Investment

We are looking for:

This is an exciting new role for a talented individual to play a key role as part of the leadership team of the Investment Directorate in transforming an organisation with ambitious plans, enabling the Government’s objectives to build more homes for England. 

The Investment Directorate manages the delivery of significant government investment and financial support for housing and is forecasting to invest and manage a portfolio of circa £24bn over the next 5 years.  We invest in places alongside local stakeholders to fund new homes, improve affordability and deliver the critical infrastructure required to increase housing supply. We work to create a stronger more diverse housing sector and support innovation, which delivers better quality homes and improves places. We can provide grant, loans, equity and guarantees in support of these aims.

Our successful candidate will:

This new role will lead and develop strategies that encourage an ambitious and entrepreneurial approach, engaging with commercial housing and financial markets and supporting the Chief Investment Officer in facilitating a sector wide investment strategy.   The role will develop the marketing strategy, identify areas and partners for collaboration and drive sector engagement.

The role will build strong and effective relationships with both the commercial and wider public sectors to identify opportunities to strengthen our SME market to support and diversify provision across the housing sector and improve productivity.

This is a key leadership role and will develop a flexible approach to multifunctional working, allocating team resource to meet changing organisational priorities. The role will work collaboratively with colleagues to embed our stated values and behaviours that underpin the way we want to work and Agency’s 5 Year Strategic Plan, and support wider organisational transformation.

The skills we would like are:

The successful candidate will have significant, relevant experience in a senior role in a Financial Services Organisation or similar. They’ll have demonstrable leadership skills, strategic business planning and exceptional external professional networking skills. The ability to lead multi-disciplined teams through change in a positive and supportive manner will be a critical factor in their success.

In addition, they’ll have a strong track record of delivering results and business plans and meeting expectations of senior level stakeholders whilst understanding and working on strategic and complex projects delivered by the public and/or private sector.
