Description

Competitive Salary based from County Hall, Penrhyn Road, Kingston Upon Thames, Surrey KT1 2DN (we are going to relocate back into the county by 2020).

About the role

Surrey County Council is embarking on a programme of radical change to meet the challenges of modern local government. Fast paced improvement across the Council is being driven by a highly motivated, strong and visible leadership team who are pushing the boundaries to dramatically change culture and modernise services.

As part of this we are transforming our property service which is responsible for c£2bn worth of assets; operational, non-operational and investment. With annual revenue budgets c£15m, a five year capital programme expected to be £1bn and a developing range of strategies, projects and disposals, this is a large, complex and fascinating business.

You will lead the transformation, build a new team, implement the Council's Asset and Place Strategy and deliver the Council's projects and programmes ensuring the very best use of the Council's assets.

Principal adviser to Members and the Corporate Leadership team on all land and property related matters you will work with a wide range of partners and stakeholders to get optimum results for Surrey.

Experienced in property management, development and investment, with strong commercial skills, you will be able to work at pace, have enthusiasm, drive and curiosity, and be able to interact with and influence a range of partners at all levels.
