Regular travel will be required, especially to other key DIO locations and MoD Main Building in London.

Defence Infrastructure Organisation (DIO) plays an integral part in supporting our armed forces by building, maintaining and servicing the infrastructure that the men and women who serve our country need to live, work, train and deploy on operations. One of the largest landowners in the UK and managing assets worth £28bn, our scale and complexity matches many multinational organisations. We are currently undertaking an ambitious transformation and as the Programmes and Performance Director (PPD) you will have the opportunity to make a big impact, quickly.

Reporting directly to our CEO, the PPD will play a vital role shaping the DIO of the future. Responsible for the delivery of major projects and programmes valued in excess of £1bn, you will be accountable for the stewardship of several high profile, complex projects, as well as a portfolio of more traditional ones within military bases and establishments. You will provide a coherent, whole estate picture of the operations programme and delivery of service across DIO, advising your senior leadership colleagues on operational performance and risk, and managing the programmes within time and budget.

You are a leader, ideally within an infrastructure or built environment context, with a track record of successful delivery in a large, complex operating environment. You will be able to point to a track record of accomplishment in planning, leading and embedding sustainable business change and modernisation, which you have achieved by successfully motivating and developing a large and dispersed workforce. Your stakeholder and influencing skills are exceptional, and you convince with a blend of authentic communication skills and evidence based-reasoning, building mutually fruitful relationships with senior colleagues, partners, and customers alike.
