As Anchor spend c£100m pa on portfolio investment and repairs, the role of a Portfolio Strategy Surveyor helps prioritize spend and drives towards the goal of creating more efficiency and more homes. You will assist with leading the development of area portfolio strategy reviews across the entire Anchor portfolio.
You will be part of a small team that supports the development of area Strategic Portfolio reviews, coordinates inputs from operational departments particularly the Finance, Strategic Asset Investment, Estates, Health & Safety, and Sustainability Teams. The output of this process will be a rolling programme of holistic portfolio strategies which will inform the investment programme and identify opportunities for further development of the estate.
This role focuses on working closely with the Development team and external consultants, making recommendations to the business whether to progress these opportunities as part of the Development programme or to conclude that they are unfeasible.
About you:
As this is a key role, you will need to have a pro-active approach to ensure that the portfolio strategy meets the needs of our customers and the objectives of the organisation, and creates a practical, financially sustainable, deliverable plan.
You will also have/be:
Qualification
- Educated to degree level in estate management or other relevant discipline.
- A member of professional estates body e.g., RICS, RIBA, RTPI. qualification (e.g., MRICS)
Experience/Knowledge
- At least 2 years’ experience within a property role, ideally with some strategic experience along with a good understanding of operational property matters.
- A background in housing could be helpful but not essential.
- Some experience in property management and property strategies.
- An understanding of cashflow analysis with the ability to scope, interrogate and interpret the options appraisal process, and generate sound risk-based recommendations and decisions.
- Good business and commercial acumen, with experience of communicating with a wide range of senior stakeholders.
- Sound CRM skills and a strong understanding of their importance.
- Able to work within decision making structures to facilitate and demonstrate effective decision making
- Ability to interpret complex data to inform decision making.
- Strong communication skills that will inspire confidence across a wide range of stakeholders
