Area Housing Manager - 12 Month FTC

Your new company is a leading London based charity that provides support and housing for thousands of vulnerable people each year. The aim for this organisation is to positively impact lives and communities through positive reinforcement and housing support aimed to improve the lives of children, young people, and adults facing or experiencing homelessness.
A substantial part of sustaining the support and work that the charity carry out, is by ensuring provided accommodation is safe and habitable for all tenants, and that the provided services meet expectations set by the charity. The charity are therefore looking to hire an area manager with social housing management experience to oversee a team of building managers and contractors to maintain and improve on the quality of housing provided.
Your new role
Managing three Building Safety Managers, and overseeing a team of 30 staff covering facilities, maintenance and concierge services, the key aim of your role is to positively impact key areas of housing management across 46 sites, through effective team management and strategic service planning.
You will take overall responsibility for managing the following:
- Contracts relating to expenditure and procurement, ensuring compliance and value for money
- Housing Management staff within your remit
- Development and roll out of housing management strategies across the charity
You will work closely with your direct reports, setting performance targets and monitoring KPIs across the portfolio, ensuring these are met, identifying areas of improvement, an implementing action plans to address any performance issues.
You will develop strong relationships with contractors ensuring service is provided to the highest standards, monitoring compliance against contracts and working with contractors to increase standards where compliance is not met.
You will also act as a key point of contact with external stakeholders, partner agencies, suppliers and contractors and will develop excellent relationships with them.
Most importantly you will ensure that the customer is at the centre of service delivery, working with your management team to provide effective communication and clarity to customers, consulting with them and taking feedback into account on any development plans.
What you'll need to succeed
In order to succeed in this role you will need strong, relevant experience of leading Housing Management services and managing large budgets.
You will have a successful track record in exceeding expectations in housing management, and will be able to demonstrate this through experience of performance monitoring and taking effective action where targets are not met.
Additionally, this role requires an ability to analyse and interpret numerical and statistical data, relating to budgets, KPIs and any other reports relevant to the post.
You will need excellent knowledge and practical application of Health and Safety law and legislation as well as legislation specifically relating to housing management.
The successful applicant will be able to deal with complex issues surrounding social housing management, working under pressure, to tight deadlines, operating within budget to achieve results. They will also be a proven multi-tasker, able to focus on reactive issues whilst operating proactively in order to improve the service.
The ideal candidate will be a proactive people person with the confidence and communication skills to influence and negotiate with key stakeholders.

An annual salary bench-marked at £44K PA
25 days holiday allowance PA increasing with service up to 30 days PA. (8 BH days in addition)
You will be enrolled onto a pension with 3% employee contribution and 5% employer contribution
