An exciting, and unique, opportunity has been established at the Diocese of Guildford. We are seeking an experienced Property Surveyor to help support us as we pursue our strategic mission Transforming Church, Transforming Lives.
With more than 200 residential houses with a value in excess of £150m, our property portfolio represents our largest capital asset by far. Many of these provide clergy housing located nearby church and parish facilities and buildings across our 163 parishes. Developing a comprehensive strategy to ensure all these buildings support today’s ministry and mission whilst optimising potential income streams, will be a key contributor to fulfilling our vision.
You will provide technical advice and support to the Property team as we design and develop our property strategy, ensuring we are equipped to provide and support high quality service and advice to our parishes. You will carry out buildings surveys, specify works, manage capital projects, oversee maintenance, manage lettings, and explore development opportunities for our properties so as to fulfil our 12 Transforming Church, Transforming Lives, strategic goals.
You will have significant experience of general practice surveying and will hold degree level qualification. You are expected to have experience of managing projects and prioritising competing demands, and in providing advice on property maintenance to a broad and varied audience who may be without property experience.
You should have outstanding negotiation and communication skills along with excellent analytical and influential abilities. It is also vital you are able to work flexibly and productively across organisational boundaries and within the Christian ethos of the Diocese of Guildford.
This is a great opportunity to join the team at a time when you can have a personal impact and influence on delivering our strategic mission.
This post is offered on a 12 month fixed term contract.
