Are you used to managing complex technical projects and developing an in-house team and keen to work on an exciting range of projects of up to £100 million in value? Then make the move to the House of Commons Strategic Estates Project Delivery team as Assistant Director – Parliamentary Estates.

Managing property and engineering projects across a Parliamentary Estate that consists of buildings that range from the historic Palace of Westminster to the modern Portcullis House, our Strategic Estates department is a fascinating place to work. Within it, our fast growing Project Delivery team delivers an array of construction and conservation projects in order to meet the needs of both Houses. Projects typically range in value between £5 million and £100 million, while activities include the refurbishment of office buildings and listed buildings and conservation works to the fabric of the estate. In short, it’s the perfect environment in which to further develop your career.

Join us as an Assistant Director and you could soon be leading, managing, developing and mentoring an in-house team of project leaders working on some genuinely interesting capital projects. You’ll also play a pivotal role in ensuring we meet the needs of internal departments across two Houses, not least by regularly reporting to all interested parties, including project boards, clients and stakeholders

Ideally from a highly regulated industry, for example rail, aviation or pharmaceuticals, you have relevant professional membership of a construction or property related body (think RICS/RIBA/CIBSE/CIOB). You also have a track record in running in-house teams that have had responsibility for appointing and overseeing external consultants and contractors to bring in projects on time and to budget and agreed quality standards.

In addition to an attractive salary, the benefits package include the possibility of flexible working, while annual leave entitlement starts at 28 days per year and increases with length of service to a maximum of 40 days per year.
