Senior Development Executive

Coventry is quite an exceptional city. In the midst of an exciting period of transformation, it is benefitting from a variety of large-scale multi-million pound works that are already underway and are dramatically rejuvenating the region. And supporting and guiding these works is Coventry City Council – a fantastic place in which to further your career. With developments of regional importance such as the 3 million square feet Friargate site which will incorporate offices, hotels and residential accommodation, plus ongoing works at Cathedral Lanes, we’ve never been busier – particularly as we are continuing to work collaboratively with developers to continue this tangent.

We have recently created the new role of Senior Development Executive to further enhance these ambitious plans. In this fast-paced role, you will work under the guidance of the Director to lead and oversee the works of the City Centre and Developments team, identifying and maximising opportunities that will continue the transformation of the city. From making initial contact with investors and developers right through to the final completion of projects, you will drive these ideas, agreeing project timeframes, securing agreements and nurturing links with other regeneration projects to benefit the city. Tasked with obtaining funding and securing financial agreements, you will promote Coventry to investors and provide your expertise to all stakeholders including the Cabinet as required.

This is a unique opportunity to be involved in genuinely exciting challenges. You will therefore need to have bid management experience, with a comprehensive understanding of the complexities of private sector funding and the issues relevant to developers. Having previously worked at a senior level in the public sector, you will be a member of the RICS and will have a professional qualification in surveying, construction, civil engineering, planning, estate management or project management. With a background in successfully implementing retail, industrial and commercial developments, your knowledge of commercial retail challenges will be complimented by an in-depth grasp of any legislation surrounding joint venture partnering and public/private property transactions. Boasting good project management capabilities, your exceptional negotiation, networking and leadership skills will be evidenced by previous successes.

This is a fantastic opportunity in which to redefine face of Coventry, so if you share our passion for exploring the potential of the city, then we’d love to discuss working together.
