A renowned local authority situated in Leicestershire are looking to appoint a Building Control Manager. This Leicestershire based authority runs a successful Building Control Department, delivering the highest level of customer service throughout. With a solid foundation of building control technicians and surveyors, the department has a sound structure. The appointment of a new Building Control Manager will allow the department to grow and move from strength to strength. This unique opportunity for a Building Control Manager, will suit an applicant who is looking to take the next step in the career, joining a respected local authority.

Your new role

You will have responsibility for the building control department and the management of the junior staff. You will cover various matters across Building Control, to include, assessing dangerous structures, handling domestic and complex commercial schemes and have full knowledge of regulations and building control frameworks.

You will promote the successful operation of the building control department and be competent liaising and negotiating with a variety of property owners, developers and customers.

What you'll need to succeed

To be successful you will ideally have worked in a previous managerial role, however should you be looking to take the next step, from a principle building control officer/surveyor to management, then please get in touch. If you can demonstrate a clear understanding of building control functions and have a passion for management then this role, within a cohesive, team orientated local authority, could be the ideal role for you.

You will have academic qualification to degree level in a relevant discipline and hold professional membership of either RICS of Association of Building Engineers.
