Responsible for developing, implementing and improving effective sourcing strategy, key supplier selection and contract negotiations related to agreed category areas. Delivers value for money and innovation in accordance with the agreed procurement and business strategy and plans.
Supports daily business driven operations through the MD's, Regional Directors, Regional Managers and key Support Services stakeholder, including Customer Services and Major Works. Works with the business to identify and improve ways of working in matters related to the category and procurement and supply chain.
Accountable for providing a 'FirstPort Fit' supply chain across agreed category. This includes UK wide geographical coverage (England, Wales and Scotland); all trades; and in/out of business hours. Compliant with standards expected of FirstPort brands, our Clients and Customers.
Responsible for key strategic supplier selection and contract negotiations relating to a defined category area.
Acts as a role model of professional procurement practice, delivering pragmatic and high quality solutions to meet the needs of the organisation, delivering value and having significant coverage and commercial influence over FirstPort's third party expenditure.
Plans and carries out activities that drive Procurement & Supply Chain's towards FirstPort's goal of becoming the UK's leading residential property manager 'as measured by others'.
What your principal responsibilities and accountabilities are:
Company-wide ResponsibilitiesUnderstands FirstPort's business strategy and how it impacts P&SC. Ensures category management activities underpin the business strategy. Represents Procurement on Executive Boards or forums as directed by Head of Procurement and Supply Chain; and delivers key reports and presentations as required. Ensures that the role & activities of the Category Management team are clearly understood by P&SC team, Internal & External Stakeholders at all times. Meets with key customers to ensure that the business strategy and functional business needs are being met effectively by the category management activity. Actively supports the procurement transformation throughout FirstPort by influencing senior management within FirstPort; expanding the footprint of procurement into new areas of FirstPort; and working with stakeholders and responding to any issues or suggestions relating to their Category in a timely manner. Champions the implementation of category management within own team and wider FirstPort community resulting in cost and value improvement. Leads and coaches others in the areas of category management, supplier relationship management and procurement policy. Act as Category subject matter expert within FirstPort and externally as appropriate. Develop and sustain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to understand and deliver the business' needs and maintains relevant stakeholder maps. Communicates the value of the Procurement & Supply Chain function to the business.
