Ten years ago, there was not enough of a skilled workforce to do the types of jobs being created by new business. That meant firms such as CB Richard Ellis and Jones Lang LaSalle had to bring in people from overseas. However, as the local talent becomes more experienced, the Brits may have to move to new markets.
Living costs are much lower than in London. The top rate of income tax is around 15%, plus 10% for social costs such as healthcare. My journey into work – a 20-minute tram ride that takes me past the medieval Prague Castle, costs about €0.50. And at around €2 a pint, beer is super cheap. For a former industrial agent, that is a big bonus."
